Robbery at Post Office at Ballinlough, Roscommon on the 14/3/09 - update.

Gardaí investigating the robbery in Ballinlough on the 14/3/09 have arrested 2 men and 1 woman in Roscommon Town.

 

Gardaí investigating the robbery in Ballinlough on the 14/3/09 have this morning, the 15/3/09 arrested 2 men and 1 woman in Roscommon Town.

All 3 are being detained under Section 30 of The Offences Against The State Act at Roscommon Garda Station.

The men are aged 27 and 36 years and the woman is 28 years.

Gardaí at Castlerea, Roscommon, are investigating the robbery of a post office in Ballinlough that occurred shortly after 8.30am on the 14/3/09.

The male owner of the post office, who is in his 40’s, was held up by 3 men wearing balaclavas.

One of the men was armed with a sawn off shotgun, one was armed with a knife and the other was armed with a hatchet.

They tied up the owner and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The alarm was raised when a member of staff came to work a short time later.

No one was injured during the course of this incident.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time or anyone with information to offer to contact them on 094 9621630.
