Investigation into death at Newbridge, Kildare on the 24/3/09

Gardaí at Newbridge are investigating the death man who was discovered in a house in The Oaks, Newbridge, Co. Kildare.

 

Gardaí at Newbridge are investigating the death of a 29 year old Latvian man who was discovered in a house in The Oaks, Newbridge, Co. Kildare on Tuesday evening, 24th March 2009.

Death was pronounced at scene and the deceased was removed to Naas General Hospital where Dr. Marie Cassidy performed a post mortem the following day, Wednesday, 25th March 2009.

Death was determined to have resulted from head injuries.

A 42 year old man was arrested Tuesday night (the night of the discovery of the body) in connection with this investigation. He was taken to Naas Garda Station where he was detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

He was subsequently charged with section 3 of The Non Fatal Offences Against The Person Act and appeared before Kildare District Court this afternoon. He was remanded in custody to appear before Naas District court Wednesday next, 1st April 2009.

There is no further information available at this time and investigations are continuing.
