Gardaí at Ballina are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N59 at Quignalecka, Ballina, Co. Mayo.
Gardaí at Ballina are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N59 at Quignalecka, Ballina, Co. Mayo shortly before 10.30pm on the 17/3/09.
A 38 year old pedestrian was killed when he was struck by a car.
The deceased was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Mayo General Hospital.
The road is closed at present pending a fatal collision examination.
Motorists are asked to avoid this route where possible.
Diversions are in place and Gardaí are at the scene.
