The Garda National Drugs Unit, supported by the Divisional Drugs Unit in Cork, stopped and searched a car in the Watergrasshill area.
At approximately 7pm on the 17th February 2009 Gardaí from The Garda National Drugs Unit, supported by the Divisional Drugs Unit in Cork, stopped and searched a car in the Watergrasshill area.
As a result 5 kilo's of suspected cannabis weed was seized. This substance has a potential street value of approximately €50,000, depending on an analysis of the substance seized.
A 37 year old man was arrested and is presently detained at Cobh Garda Station under Section 2 of The Drug Trafficking Act.
It is believed that this seizure was destined for the North City Cork area.
