The deceased was a Dutch national who had been residing in the area for some time.
Gardaí at Killarney are investigating a fatal house fire that occurred overnight at Coolownig, Lauragh, Co. Kerry.
An 88 year old man was fatally injured in the fire and his body has been taken to Kerry General Hospital where a post mortem will be carried out later today.
The scene of the fire is being preserved and The Divisional Scenes of Crime Unit are in attendance.
Two other occupants who had been asleep in the house made the discovery shortly after 3am.
