Helicopter crash in the Bog of Allen, Kildare on the 2/4/09

Gardaí and emergency services are at the crash scene where a single helicopter went down on the Bog of Allen at Robertstown, Co. Kildare.

The aircraft was on a training flight and the aircraft along with the remains of it's 2 occupants were discovered shortly after mid day today.

Both of the deceased are male, one believed to be in his early 30's and the other believed to be in his 20's. Their bodies are still at the scene at present but are shortly due to be removed to Naas General Hospital.

The Air Accident Investigation Unit, Department of Transport have been informed.
