Suspect device discovered in Ronanstown, Dublin on the 10/9/08

Garda are investigating the discovery of a suspect device at Greenfort Gardens in Ronanstown.

 

Garda are investigating the discovery of a suspect device at Greenfort Gardens in Ronanstown. 

The device was discovered in an ESB sub station at about 12.45 p.m. by ESB staff.  The device and a number of shotgun cartridges were found wrapped in plactic and would appear to have been there for a number of days. 

The area was cordoned off by Gardai and an army Explosive Ordenance Disposal (EOD) team requested. 

The EOD team made the device, that they described as viable, safe and left the location at 3.15 pm. 

The component parts have will be technically examined by Gardai and the incident in under investigation.
