Gardai at Stoneyford, Co. Kilkenny are investigating a house fire which occurred at Viper, Kells in Kilkenny.
The fire occurred at approximately 6.15pm on the evening of Monday, 21/1/2007.
A 92 year old woman was removed from the house and taken to St Luke's Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 6.45pm. She is believed to have been alone in the house when the fire occurred.
The scene is currently being preserved and a technical examination will take place on the 22/1/2008.
There is no suspicion of foul play in relation to the fire.
