Fatal road traffic collision at Clifden, Galway on the 11/8/08.

Gardai at Clifden are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 12 midday today the 11/08/08 at Lettergesh East, Tully Cross, Renvyle, Co. Galway.

 

Gardai in Clifden investigating yesterday's (11/8/2008) fatal road traffic collision (see original release below) are appealing to the driver of a small, light-blue, sports utility vehicle (SUV) who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed the incident. 

Gardai are appealing to this driver to contact the Incident Room in Clifden on 095-22500 or the Garda Confidential telephone line 1800 666 111. 

The names of the two men fatally injured in the collision are Laurent Roy (49yrs) and Claude Chanterault (67 years).  Both men are French nationals.

Gardai at Clifden are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 12 midday today the 11/08/08 at Lettergesh East, Tully Cross, Renvyle, Co. Galway. 

Two males, one in his late 40's and one in his 60's were fatally injured when the silver Ford Mondeo Car they were travelling in slid down an embankment and overturned.

Two female passangers were brought to University College Hospital Galway for treatment. Their injuries are described as not life threatening.

This accident occurred on the beach road connecting the Lettergesch / Leenane Road to the beach. This location is approximately 3km from Tully Cross. 

Gardai at Clifden are appealing to any witness that may have been in the area between 11am and 12.30pm and that may be in a position to assist, to contact them at 095 - 22500 or the Garda Confidential telephone line 1800 666 111.
