Non fatal shooting in Limerick on the 23/4/08.

Gardaí at Roxboro Road are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at Hyde Avenue in the Ballinacurra Weston area of Limerick.

 

Gardaí at Roxboro Road are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at approximately 4pm on the 23/4/08 on Hyde Avenue in the Ballinacurra Weston area of Limerick City. 

A number of shots were fired at a man, who is in his early 40's, inflicting injuries which are not believed to be life threatening. 

He is receiving medical treatment at the Mid Western Regional Hospital, Dooradoyle. 

A green car (unknown make) was used in this incident and it is unsure at this time as to whether or not the shots were fired from the car or if the gunman alighted from it.  A car was found a short time later burned out in Rhebogue. 

It is believed that this is the car used in the shooting.  Both scenes are being preserved and investigations are ongoing.
