Castlebar: Traffic management plans

There will be brief road closures at the following locations at 12 midday:

  • Mc Hale Road/Station Road.
  • Cathal Duffys Roundabout.

Long term road closures

  • Spencer Street.
  • The Mall
  • Market Street.
  • Lannagh Road.
  • Upper Chapel Street
  • Rathbawn Road.
  • Newline.
  • New Antrim Street.
  • Tucker Street.
  • Linehall Street.
  • Main Street.
  • Castle Street.

Claremorris: Traffic management plans

Parade is due to start at 16.00hrs and is due to finish at approximately 18.00hrs, starting at Lakeside industrial Park/Smyth’s carpark old Ballindine Road.

Road Closures;

  • Claremorris town from the N17 in by Old Ballindine Road is temporarily closed off from 15.30hrs – 17.00hrs (access to be allowed to parents dropping children/participants into parade).
  • Once the parade starts at 16.00hrs no cars will be able to go into Claremorris via Old Ballindine Road as the parade will have the road totally blocked.

Fireworks display at 8pm in Claremorris, between 19.45hrs – 20.30hrs

Road Closure;

  • Road 1: Post Office Lane down to Supervalu at Daybreak shop/Post office on the Ballyhaunis Road
  • Road 2: Road down by Glynns Shop on the Ballyhaunis Road.

Motorist are asked to avoid these area’s if possible to avoid delay

Please see attached plans as requested for Athleague and Lecarrow St Patrick’s day parades 2026 in Co. Roscommon.  

Both are due to take place on Tuesday the 17th March at 1pm.

Athleague

An Garda Siochana intend to close the N63 at 1pm to allow the parade to pass through the village. There will be no traffic divert and traffic will be delayed until the parade finishes.

Lecarrow

The N61 will remain open with traffic interrupted only to allow the parade to enter the Road. Traffic will be allowed to follow the parade but must expect disruption as it will be slow moving until it exits the N61.
