Introduction:

An Garda Síochána, Limerick wish to welcome all music enthusiasts to Thomond Park Stadium for the Thomond Park Concerts 2026. In order to maximise your enjoyment of the event An Garda Síochána would like to offer the following information in relation to traffic management and safety at the Events in Thomond Park.

GENERAL TRAFFIC & CONCERT ARRANGEMENTS

Motorists are advised to avoid the Thomond Park area and expect delays due to diversions and road closures in operation.

  1. Thomond Bridge, Sarsfield Bridge and Shannon Bridge will remain open to Two Way Traffic throughout the events. Limerick Tunnel will also always remain open.
  2. From 16:00 to 00:00 Cratloe Road will be closed to traffic from its junction with Shelbourne Rd/Kileely Rd/Sexton St North (Hassetts Cross) to its junction with T.U.S. roundabout.
  3. From 18:00 to 00:00 the following roads will be closed to traffic:
  • Shelbourne Road from its junction with Ennis Road (Union Cross) to its junction with Cratloe Road (Hassetts Cross)
  • Sexton Street North from its junction with Cross Road to its junction with Cratloe Road (Hassetts Cross)
  • Kileely Road from its junction with New Road to its junction with Cratloe Road (Hassetts Cross)
  1. No general parking spaces are available within the grounds. Patrons with accessibility issues should log onto www.mcd.ie or download the Evntz app for further information. Parking restrictions will be put in place near the Stadium for local residents. Proof of residence in the restricted areas will be required.  Vehicles found in breach are liable to be impounded.
  2. Bus parking will be available at O’Callaghan Strand, which is only a 15-minute walk to Thomond Park. Bus parking will not be permitted in the vicinity of Thomond Park.
  3. Event Road closures and diversions as set out below will come into effect at 16:00 and will remain in place until at least 00:00.
  4. Patrons should be aware of the colour coded entry routes to the Stadium which will be clearly identified on their tickets and will be strictly enforced. People should approach the Stadium with these routes in mind.

Road Closures:

Road Closures will apply from 16:00 hrs onwards at the following locations;

  • Shelbourne Road Upper at its junction with Shelbourne Park
  • Shelbourne Road Upper at its junction with Mayorstone Drive
  • Kileely Rd (R464) at its junction with Ballynanty Rd.
  • Knockalisheen Rd at its junction with Ballynanty Road
  • Knockalisheen Road/ Ballygrennan Road (By the Red Gate)     
  • Cratloe Road at its junction with Shelbourne Road & Kileely Road (Hassetts Cross)
  • Cratloe Road at its junction with Old Cratloe Road & Brookville Avenue (TUS roundabout)
  • Cratloe Road at its junction with Mayorstone Avenue
  • Cratloe Road at its junction with Mayorstone Upper (2 separate closures)
  • Ennis Road at its junction with Lansdowne Park
  • Shannonville/Hazeldene at its junction with the Ennis Rd.
  • Corrib Drive at its Junction with Ennis Rd.

Parking:

The Garda advice to patrons is to arrive early and to avail of city centre on-street parking and also of parking available at city centre car parks.  Further information on parking is available on the Evntz app.

Patrons can also walk to the stadium (15-20 mins from the City Centre), avail of the local 302, 303 or 306 Bus Service from Colbert Station or Dunnes Stores, Henry Street.

Patrons requesting wheelchair accessible parking are advised to contact MCD at www.mcd.ie  in relation to parking available in the area. Drop-off will not be possible in the vicinity of Thomond Park Stadium.
