Traffic management plan Concerts at Royal Hospital Kilmainham

  • Thursday 20th August 2026 – Restrictions from 4pm until approx. 12am
  • Friday 21st August 2026 – Restrictions from 4pm until approx. 12am
  • Tuesday 25th August 2026 – Restrictions from 4pm until approx. 12am

On these dates the below restrictions will take effect:

No Access to Military Road from St. Johns Road West

No right turn Exit from HSQ on Military Road

Local Access to Kilmainham Lane/Irwin St and Military Road (WSH) will be from Bow Lane West / James St

No access to Kilmainham Lane from South Circular Road 

While safe to do so throughout the day, access for buses will be facilitated to Military Road from James St / Bow Lane West.

This will be strictly footfall dependant.

When footfall increases and it becomes unsafe to allow traffic on military road, outbound buses will be diverted from James St to Mount Brown/ Old Kilmainham.

During egress (Approx. 10:15pm – 11:30pm) traffic restrictions will be strictly enforced.

During this time there will be strictly no traffic movement on Military Road with the exception of emergency situations.

St Johns Road West will be closed in both directions at Con Colbert Road Roundabout and Victoria Quay.

South Circular Road will be closed between the junction with Emmet Road / Old Kilmainham and The Concolbert Roundabout.

While safe to do so during egress Buses will be allowed to travel on St Johns Road West.

Once it becomes unsafe to allow traffic all inbound traffic will be diverted toward Islandbridge, all outbound traffic will be diverted towards Parkgate Street.
