Traffic Advice - Harry Styles at Slane Castle, 10 June 2023

Harry Styles World Tour comes to Slane Castle on Saturday 10th of June 2023 for his first ever show at Slane.

A major Garda policing plan will be in operation for the duration of the concert weekend.  The aim of An Garda Síochána is to keep people safe and to ensure the safety of all local residents and the safety of the large influx of visitors who travel to Slane to enjoy the concert.   The Policing Operation will begin on Friday the 9th of June 2023 and will continue throughout the weekend. 

Traffic Diversions: 

An Garda Síochána have worked closely with official event organisers, bus companies and Meath County Council to develop a traffic plan which aims to ensure the safety of all over the concert weekend.  Traffic diversions will be in place for the duration of the concert weekend.  Priority will be given to Official Public Transport and Patrons are strongly advised to use Official Bus Transport.  

An Garda Síochána’s traffic plan includes:

  • At 7:00am on the 10th of June 2023 there will be restricted access to Slane
  • At 9:00am on the 10th of June 2023 all roads into Slane will be closed.
  • These road closures will remain in place until approximately 2:00 a.m. on Sunday the 11th of June 2023 when the concert is over, and all patrons have safely left.  
  • Gardaí will be on duty at key junctions to stop and redirect traffic where necessary. 
  • No parking will be permitted on roadsides and cars will be towed away.

 

Car Parks:

There are four Official car parks and these are located on the

  • Navan Road (Red Car Park)
  • Dublin Rd (Green Car Park)
  • Collon Road (Blue Car Park)
  • Drogheda Rd (Pink Car Park).   
  • The VIP and Accessibility Car Park are located on the Navan Road.

 

There is a drop off and collection point at the Collon Road (Blue Car Park), the Dublin Road (Green Car Park) and the Drogheda Road (Pink Car Park).  The drop off and collection point on the Navan Road is located in the Red Car Park.   Car park conditions are weather dependent, and limitations may apply - therefore the use of Public Transport is highly recommended. Priority will be given to Official Public Transport and patrons can expect possible delays on exiting car parks.

 

Travelling to the Concert: 

Official Bus and Coach Transport and Dublin Shuttle (Bus Eireann and Marathon Coaches) PRIVATE BUS INFORMATION BELOW

Patrons travelling to the Concert from Dublin on Dublin Shuttle bus (Bus Eireann and Marathon Coaches) will travel towards Slane on the Dublin Road (N2) and passengers will disembark at the Fennor Bus Depot 

Patrons travelling to the Concert on Official Drogheda Shuttle Bus Transport  (e.g.  Bus Eireann ) via Drogheda will travel towards Slane on the Collon Road (N2) and passengers will disembark at Grasslands Bus Depot. 

Patrons travelling to the Concert on Official Navan shuttle  (e.g.  Bus Eireann) Bus Transport from Navan will travel towards Slane via Kilberry and passengers will disembark at the Roadstone Bus Depot 

 

Private Bus and Coach 

Patrons travelling to the Concert on Private Bus & Coach via Dublin will travel towards Slane via the M1 and M3. Vehicles travelling via the M1 will take the Collon exit and then travel from Collon to Slane and park at Grasslands, Collon Road. Private Buses travelling via the M3 will travel on the Slane Road (N51) from Navan and park in Roadstone Bus Depot. Private companies are to follow the instructions they receive from the Bus Parking Management Team who will advise them as to what route to travel based on their original starting point.  

Patrons travelling to the Concert on Private Bus & Coach from the North will travel towards Slane on the Collon Road (N2) and passengers will disembark at the Grasslands Bus Depot. 

Patrons travelling to the Concert on private Bus hires via Navan will travel towards Slane on the Navan Road (N51) and passengers will disembark at the Red Roadstone Bus Depot.

All Bus passengers will disembark at both locations (Grasslands and Roadstone) and will then walk to the concert site going through security checks.

No Bus Transport will be permitted to travel to Slane using the Kells Road (R163) or Drogheda Road (N51).

Cars and Taxis:

Patrons travelling to the Concert on the M1 Motorway from Dublin using private cars and taxis will exit at Drogheda North / Slane (Junction 10) and travel towards Slane and park in the Pink Car Park (Drogheda Road).  Taxis will be diverted to the designated area in the Pink Car Park for dropping off patrons. No vehicles are to drop off patrons on the main road. All drop offs must take place in the designated area in the Pink Car Park

Patrons travelling to the Concert on the M1 Motorway from the North using private cars and taxis will exit at the Collon/Dunleer exit (Junction 12) and travel towards Slane via Collon on the N2 to the Blue Car Park (Collon Road). No vehicles are to drop off patrons on the main road. All drop offs must take place in the designated area in the Blue Car Park.

Patrons travelling to the Concert from Dublin on the N2 using private cars and taxis will travel towards Slane and park at the Green Cark Park (Dublin Rd at McGruders Cross). No vehicles are to drop off patrons on the main road. All drop offs must take place in the designated area in the Green Car Park.

Patrons travelling to the Concert via Navan using private cars and taxis will travel towards Slane on the Navan Road (N51).  Private Cars will park at the Red Car Park (Navan Road).  Taxis will drop patrons in an area in the Red Car Park. No vehicles are to drop of patrons on the main road. All drop offs must take place in the designated area in the Red Car Park

No private cars or taxis will be permitted to travel to Slane using the Kells Road (R163). 

 

Exiting the Concert: 

All transport using the Collon Road (N2) (Grasslands Bus Depot & Blue Car/Taxi Park) will exit onto the N2 and travel North towards Collon. 

All transport using the Drogheda Road (Pink Car Park & Taxi Park) will exit onto the Drogheda Road (N51) and travel towards Drogheda. 

All official Dublin Shuttle buses (Bus Eireann and Marathon) using the Fennor Bus Depot (Dublin Road) will travel on the Fennor Road towards Drogheda and the M1. 

All private cars & taxis using the Green Car Park (Dublin Road N2) will exit the car park onto the N2 and travel back towards Dublin. 

All buses using the Roadstone Bus Depot will exit onto the Kells Road (R163) and the Navan Road (N51). Buses exiting on the Kells Road will travel towards Kilberry. Buses will be permitted exit onto the Navan Road (N51). 

All private cars using the Red Car Park, VIP & Accessibility car parks will exit onto the Navan Road (N51) and travel towards Navan. At Wickers Cross, traffic will be diverted towards 1) Navan and 2) Hayestown. These routes lead to Navan and will reduce the waiting time for people in the car parks. Please follow directions by Gardai at all times.

 

Non-Event Traffic: 

  • Non-Event Traffic travelling up the N2 from Dublin will be diverted by VMS signage at Kilmoon Cross towards Drogheda M1. 
  • Non Event Traffic travelling the N2 from the North will be directed by VMS Signage towards the M1 in Ardee, at Daly’s Cross (North of Collon, Junction of R169 / N2) and again in Collon Village. 
  • Non-Event Traffic approaching Slane from Drogheda will be diverted via Collon. 
  • Non-Event Traffic approaching from Kells will be diverted by signage via Navan.  
  • Motorists who need to travel between Navan and Drogheda should follow signage directing them Via Kentstown.  

 

Accessibility Parking: 

Accessibility Car Parking is provided within the VIP car park off the N51 adjacent to the Event site. This car park can be accessed via Navan. Prior permission should be obtained from the concert promoters MCD to avail of these car parking facilities. 

 

Resident’s Parking: 

Residents will be accommodated at the designated Resident Car Park which is located at the Cemetery (accessed via Grangegeeth)

 

Emergency Routes: 

The emergency routes are in place to allow emergency vehicles travelling between Navan and Drogheda to divert around Slane without encountering any delays.  There are two routes outlined, running to the North and South of Slane Village. 

 

Bus Travel Information:

Fans are strongly advised to book return travel to the concert in advance.

Buses will depart between 10:00 and 16.00 from various locations in Dublin. Patrons are advised to follow the instructions in above links when booking tickets. A time slot must be booked.
