The repair works will begin on the 30th October, and the 8-week construction contract will commence from that date until the 19th of December 2018 when the station will be handed back following reconstruction works.

Gardai in Schull will be operational from Ballydehob/Durrus Garda stations for the duration of the works. The service to the community on the Mizen Peninsula should not be overly impacted by this temporary closure and is outlined below.

Opening hours in Ballydehob will be advertised in Ballydehob and also on display at the closed station in Schull along with Post Office and Doctors surgery and in Schull Goleen and Ballydehob. These opening hour’s will be subject to local change but for the majority of the works will be   11am-1pm and 4pm-7pm.

All phone calls to the station will be forwarded via Bantry which has a working voice message service. Bantry are in possession of the working detail for Schull Gardai. The station phone number and mobile will be placed on all adverts.
