Request for Public consultation (23/1/19)

An Garda Síochána is in the process of developing an External Emergency Plan in accordance with obligations under The Chemicals Act (Control of Major Accident Hazards involving Dangerous Substances) Regulations 2015 (S. I. No. 209 of 2015) there is a requirement to engage in a public consultation process.

As part of this process An Garda Síochána must enable members of the public to consult with the Draft External Emergency plan and to make comments on the plan in advance of the final plan being produced.

Members of the public will be provided with details of the public consultation process for each of the relevant companies through the following Local Authority links:

An Garda Síochána, The Health Service Executive and Kilkenny County Council are each required by the above mentioned regulations to prepare plans to deal with effects off-site and to assist, where relevant, with the emergency response on-site in the event of a major accident at

Dates for viewing are from Monday 2nd December until 31 December 2019 inclusive, excluding weekends from 09:30 - 16:30 hours.

Submissions can be made up to 16:30 hours on 31 December 2019.
