HEO Internal Communications Manager, An Garda Síochána

The Office of Internal Communications is now expanding. This is an exciting opportunity to join an award-winning, creative and passionate team in a dynamic organisation. The team is led by the Head of Internal Communications who reports to the Director of Communications. All staff members in the Office of Internal Communications are subject to the Official Secrets Act.

Job specification

Reporting directly to the Head of Internal Communications, you will be responsible for the planning and delivery of content across An Garda Síochána’s internal communications channels. You will line manage and develop a team to provide engaging and useful content for our internal audiences.

This role is offered on a fixed-term 2-year contract on the Higher Executive Officer payscale. The role is based at Garda Headquarters, Phoenix Park but remote working is available.

What you will be doing in this role

• Content strategist for all internal communication channels
• Managing the editorial calendar for all channels
• Assisting in the development of new digital channels, including an intranet
• Managing and developing a team of motivated, engaged employees
• Managing annual communications plan and monthly priorities, aligned with internal communications strategy
• Ensuring high standards for all content across channels
• Designing and implementing approval processes and structured ways of working
• Developing effective relationships with internal stakeholders, working collaboratively across the organisation
