The Financial Accounting Section's functions include:

• Preparation of An Garda Síochána’s Annual Appropriation Accounts
• Liaison with Internal Audit and the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General
• Accounts Payable
• Purchasing
• Accounts Receivable
• Garda Central Stores
• Asset Register maintenance

The Management Accounting Section's functions include:

• Providing financial reporting information to all Garda Regions, Divisions and Districts
• Monitoring of expenditure and the provision of variance analysis
• Expenditure profiling and projections
• Devolvement of budgets to Regions and Branches
• Assisting sections with all queries relating to budgets and expenditure
• Production of the multi-annual budgets and Annual Estimates submissions to the Department of Justice & Equality in respect of the Garda Vote
• Costing of major events requiring significant Garda policing
• Implementation and ongoing maintenance of Garda Financial Management Systems

The Claims Section's functions include:

• Processing travel and subsistence claims
• Helpdesk for claims processed at District level
• Internal Travel Bureau - processing and advising upon travel and subsistence claims
• Management of Garda Printing Section
• Management of Garda Repository stores
