As part of an on-going Investigation surrounding the activities of an Insurance ‘Ghost Broker’, Gardaí from the Special Investigation Unit DMR Traffic, conducted numerous searches yesterday morning, Wednesday 29th November 2017.
Gardaí from the DMR Traffic were assisted by members from the Criminal Assets Bureau and the Cyber Crime Unit. During the searches a large amount of cash was seized along with a number of high value watches, 5 motor vehicles, an imitation firearm and a small quantity of drugs. Six bank accounts with an amount in excess of €200,000 has also been frozen.
A male (mid 30s) was arrested after a search of a house in Lucan and he is currently detained under Section 4 Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Ronanstown Garda Station.
Further searches are currently being undertaken.
