Update - Court appearance firearms offences Athlone

A man in his late 30s is due to appear at Longford District Court this morning 3rd August 2016 at 10.30am charged with firearms offences.

The man was arrested yesterday evening on suspicion of possession of firearms and ammunition in Athlone on 25th June 2016, as part of an on-going investigation into organised and drug crime in the Athlone area.
