Drug Seizure at Dublin Port on the 12/9/15

On the morning of the 12th September 2015, as part of an intelligence led joint operation between Officers of the Revenue Commissioners Customs Service and the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau of An Garda Siochana

approximately 15 kilos of cocaine (pending analysis) with an estimated street value in excess of €1 million was seized, following the  interception of a haulage vehicle that had just arrived at Dublin Port from the UK.
 

During the course of this joint operation one male (aged 36 yrs) was arrested for drug trafficking offences and detained at Store Street Garda Station, under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking  Act 1996.

 
The suspect has been charged and is scheduled to appear before The Criminal Courts of Justice at 10.30 am on Monday morning the 14th September.
