Fatal road traffic collision at Monasterboice, Louth on the 20/11/15

Gardai in Drogheda are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred in Monasterboice on the 20th November 2015.

The collision between two cars occurred at approximately 6.15am at Tully Esker, on the Drogheda to Monasterboice Road. The male (36 years) driver of one car was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene, his body remains at the scene. The driver and passenger (one male, one female both in their 30's) of the other car have been taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital where their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The road is currently closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision examination and diversions are in place.
