Fatal house fire at Oughterard, Galway on the 4/11/15

Gardai are investigating a fatal house fire that occured on Camp Street, Oughterard, early this afternoon, Wednesday 4th November 2015.

Gardai were alerted to the fire at a house on Camp Street, after 12.30p.m. this afternoon. Emergency services attended the scene and the body of a woman in her early 70's was removed to the morgue in University Hospital Galway.There were no other persons in the house at the time of the fire.

The house has been preserved for a technical examination.

Note: At this stage it is not believed that there will be a criminal investigation.
