Robbery at Supermarket in Dunboyne, Meath on the 11/3/15

Gardai in Ashbourne, Co Meath are investigating an armed robbery at a Supermarket in Dunboyne on the 11th March 2015.

The incident occurred at approximately 6.20pm when a lone male entered the Supermarket and threatened staff and demanded money, he was armed with what was believed to be a firearm. He left the scene with a sum of cash in a black car and headed towards Summerhill, Co Meath. He was eventually stopped by Gardai from Ashbourne a short while later. A firearm and and cash were recovered in the car and the male 32 years old was arrested and detained under the provisions of Section 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939 as amended at Ashbourne Garda station. The firearm will be examined later by Garda Ballistics section, Garda Headquarters, Phoenix Park.
