Man arrested in connection with house fire investigation in Newbridge, Kildare on the 31/3/15

Gardaí have arrested a 39 year old man in connection with the investigation into a house fire which occurred at Millfield Manor estate, Newbridge, County Kildare this afternoon, Tuesday 31st March 2015 at approximately 4pm.

The man was arrested this evening and is currently detained at Newbridge Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Gardaí and Fire Service attended the scene and a number of houses were evacuated. Six properties were extensively damaged. All occupants have been accounted for and no injuries have been reported.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination.
