Gardaí in Donegal have seized approximately 800 cannabis plants and 30 kilos of cannabis herb, with an estimated value of €1.2 million, pending analysis, following planned searches of lands and a premises at Carrickboy, Ballyshannon, Co Donegal.
Gardaí from Ballyshannon and Bundoran assisted by the Regional Support Unit carried out the searches on Thursday afternoon 23rd July 2015 at approximately 4pm. where they discovered a large cannabis cultivation operation.
Two men, aged 40 and 41 years, were arrested at scene and are currently detained at Ballyshannon Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
The scene has been preserved for technical examination.
