Update - Drug seizure and arrest in Tralee, Co. Kerry on the 18/2/15

A male aged in his 30s is expected to appear before a sitting of Tralee District Court this afternoon (18/2/2015) charged in connection with this investigation.

As part of an on-going intelligence led operation targeting the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Kerry area, Gardaí have seized cannabis and arrested a male.

Gardai assisted by the Garda Dog Unit carried out a planned search of a house in Ballyroe, Tralee this morning. During the course of the search cannabis herb with an estimated street value of up to €40,000 (pending analysis), a quantity of suspected amphetamine, a stun gun and drug paraphernalia were located.

A male in his 30’s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Tralee Garda Station.
