Gardaí are investigating a fatal shooting incident at Harty Avenue in Walkinstown, Dublin 12 on 15th February 2015

The incident occurred shortly before 9.30pm and a man in his 60s was shot outside a house on Harty Avenue. The injured man was taken to St James’ Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after 10pm.

A short distance away on John McCormack Avenue a burnt out car was located .

The scene of the shooting and the area where the car was discovered are preserved for forensic technical examination. 
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the Crumlin/Walkintown areas between 9pm and 10pm to contact them at Crumlin Garda Station on 01 666 6200.
