Fatal road traffic collision in Leitrim on the 8/2/15

Gardaí at Carrick on Shannon are investigating a two car fatal road traffic collision which occured on the Ballinamore to Swanlinbar Road (R202) at approx 7pm 8th February 2015. The incident occured in the townland of Lissacairn four miles approx from Swanlinbar.

An 18yr old man, who was driver and sole occupant, was taken to Enniskillen Hospital where was later pronounced dead in early hours this morning.  Two female occupants of second vehicle were taken to Enniskillen hospital and later released.

Road is currently closed for technical examination by Garda forensic collision investigators.
