Witness Appeal - Hit and Run Collision, Phoenix Park, Dublin - Monday 6th April 2015

Gardai in Cabra investigating the fatal hit and run collision that occurred on the North Road, Phoenix Park yesterday evening wish to renew their appeal for witnesses.

They are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen the car involved, a 02 D registration green Toyota Corolla, driving erratically near the Visitors Centre or in the general Phoenix Park area, yesterday afternoon prior to the collision.

The 2 year old girl who was seriously injured following being struck by a car on the North Road, Phoenix Park yesterday evening was pronounced dead in the early hours of the morning.

The 24 year old male who was arrested remains in custody at Blanchardstown Garda Station. He is detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Gardaí at Cabra in Dublin are investigating a serious hit & run collision which occurred on the North Road, Phoenix Park at approximately 6.25pm this evening (6/4/15)
A 2 year old boy was struck by a car which failed to stop at the scene. The child was removed to the Children’s University Hospital, Temple Street in a serious condition.


A 24 year old man was arrested a short time later in relation to this incident and is currently detained at Cabra Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 – Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Investigations are continuing
