Gardaí at Monaghan are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Cappog, Ballinode, Monaghan at approximatley 12 noon yesterday Saturday 28th June 2014.
A car left the road and hit a ditch and then collided with an oncoming car. The male driver of the car that hit the ditch (84 years) was removed to Cavan General Hospital and died in the late afternoon. The second driver (female 37 years) was uninjured.
The road was closed to facilitate a Garda Forensic Collision examination but is now reopened.
