Male charged - Fatal road traffic collision at Ardmore, Waterford on the 28/7/14

He will appear before the District Ct in Cashel, Co Tipperary at 12 noon on the 30th July 2014.

Gardai in Dungarvan are investigating a three vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred at Kielys Cross, Ardmore, Co. Waterford at approximately 5.30 pm yesterday (28/07/14).


A woman in her 50’s was fatally injured when the car she was travelling in (backseat passenger) was involved in a collision with a second car. She was pronounced dead at the scene.  The other two occupants of the car were taken to hospital with injuries described as not life threatening.
 

The two occupants of a second car also taken to hospital with injuries described as minor. The two occupants of a third car were uninjured, the 18 year old driver of this third car was arrested at the scene and taken to Dungarvan Garda Station where he remains in custody. The injured people were taken to Waterford and Clonmel Hospitals.
 

The road was closed for a time to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators but has since reopened.
