Renewed appeal Fatal Traffic Collision Swords Co. Dublin 16th August 2014

Gardaí in Swords are renewing their appeal for information following a fatal road traffic collision in Swords Co. Dublin on the 16th August 2014.

At approximately 0310hrs a 50-year-old male pedestrian was fatally injured when he was struck by a car on North St. Swords. The vehicle involved in the incident failed to remain at the scene.

Investigating Gardaí are continuing to appeal to anyone who was in the in the vicinity of North St. Swords at the time of the collision to contact them. They are also anxious to speak with two females who took a lift in a dark coloured Volkswagen Golf Car in the Swords area on the morning of Saturday 16th August between 0300hrs and 0330hrs to contact the incident room at Swords Garda Station.

Gardaí are continuing to detain a 29-year-old male, arrested yesterday evening (16/8/2014), at Swords Garda Station as part of the investigation.
