Armed robbery in Donaghmede, Dublin on the 23/3/13

Gardai at Coolock are investigating an armed cash-in-transit robbery which occurred at Donaghmede Shopping Centre this morning (23/3/2013).

At approximately 9.30 a.m. a lone gunman approached and threatened security staff as they transferred cash from a fast food outlet before making off with undisclosed sum cash in a silver coloured Volkswagen Scirocco (motor car). There were no reported injuries and no shots fired during the incident.

A man aged in his 20s was arrested in the Kinsealy area in connection with this incident during follow up searches a short time later. He is currently detained under Section 30 of the offences against the State Act, 1939, at Coolock Garda Station.
