Aggravated burglaries in Limerick - Four Arrests

Gardai in Bruff investigating four aggravated burglaries that occured over the last number of months have arrested three males and one female.

They are currently detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007 as amended and are being held at Bruff (female), Henry Street, Mayorstone and Roxboro Garda Stations.  The males are aged 48 years, 32 years, 19 years and the female is 19 years of age. 


Two seperate males (30 years & 28 years) were previously arrested and are currently before the courts in respect of an aggravated burglary on the 31st May, 2012.

Gardaí are investigating an aggravated burglary at Pallasgreen, Co.Limerick at 10.00 pm on the 31st May 2012. Two masked men, armed with what were believed to be knives, broke in and attacked the residents of the house. Both raided are described as in their 20s. The raiders ransacked the house and stole a quantity of cash.


Two sisters aged in their 60's and 70's and their brother in his 70ss were assaulted and tied up. They managed to escape at about 12.30 am and raised the alarm. All three requires hospital treatment for their injuries and were taken to the Mid Western  Regional Hospital in Limerick.  All three were released from hospital this afternoon.


An incident room has been set up at Bruff Garda Station and Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 061 382940.

Gardai in Murroe are investigating an aggravated burglary which occured in townland of Murroe at 8p.m. on the 7th April, 2012.  Two men entered the sitting room wearing balaclavas, one armed with a sawnoff shotgun and the other with an knife.  They demanded money from the elderly female homeowner.  They departed from the scene in the homeowners car.  The scene is being technically examined.
 

Gardai at Bruff investigating an aggravated burglary which occured on 13th April, 2012 at Killuragh at approx 11pm. Three males forced entry at the house and threatened a male occupant 29yrs. Males were armed with a firearm and a sledgehammer.  The male was restrained but recieved no serious injuries. The men took the keys of a silver 4x4 and fled the scene. The scene is being technically examined.
 

Gardai at Pallasgreen are investigating an aggravated burglary which occured on 16th April, 2012 at 9.30 p.m. in the townland of Pallasgreen.  Three armed and masked males entered the home and handcuffed the injured party.  Threatened the homeowner and stole a large sum of money.  The male homeowner was physically assaulted. The scene is being preserved for technical examination.
