Murder investigation into the death of Siobhan Stapelton in Thomastown, Kilkenny on the 25/5/12 - Male arrested

Gardai in Thomastown investigating the murder of 51yr old Siobhan Stapelton on the 25th May 2012 have arrested a male in his 30's this afternoon the 29th May 2012.

The male was arrested in the Thomastown area and is being detained at Thomastown Garda station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.

Gardai in Thomastown investigating the suspicious death of a 51yr old Siobhan Stapelton on the 25th May 2012 have launched a murder investigation into her death.

She was found at her house at Glebe Lodge Kilfane,Thomastown between 1.10pm and 1.40pm yesterday the 25th May 2012 with serious injuries, she was later pronounced dead as a result of her injuries while being transferred to  Beaumont Hospital.
 
An incident room has been set up in Thomastown and Gardai are appealling for anyone who may have seen anything of a suspicious nature or unusual behaviour in and around Glebe Lodge between 1pm and 1.45pm yesterday the 25th May 2012 to contact the Gardai in Thomastown on 056 7754150, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station
 
The scene of the murder, Glebe Lodge Kilfane is on the old Thomastown to Dublin Rd approx 1.5 miles  outside Thomastown and in close proximity to a well known local Public House.
