Theft of dangerous chemicals from a factory on Kilmallock Road, Limerick on the 14/7/12

Gardai at Roxboro Road are investigating the theft of a number of items from a factory in the early hours of the 14th July 2012 at Enterprise Centre, Kilmallock Road. Co Limerick.

During the burglary two x 15kg white plastic drums of Caustic Soda and two x 15kg yellow plastic drums of Nitric Acid were taken.

 
Gardai are asking the public to avoid contact with these drums and report any sightings of these drums to their local Garda station.

 
Caustic Soda: Can cause Skin Corrosion and is corrosive to metals it is extremely dangerous if inhaled, swallowed or comes in contact with skin.

Nitric Acid: Corrosive to all parts of body, risk of serious damage to eyes. Toxic by inhalation and may cause delayed build up of fluid in lungs which can prove fatal.
