As part of an intelligence led operation, members from the Garda National Drugs Unit and Dundalk Gardai carried out a search of a dwelling at Seatown, Dundalk, Co. Louth this morning (28.11.11).
During the search a substantial cannabis cultivation site was discovered in the dwelling house. Approximately 800 cannabis plants were seized along with 7kgs of herbal cannabis with a total estimated street value of up to €400,000 (subject to analysis).
Two males aged 31 and 42 were arrested at the scene and are currently being detained at Dundalk Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice ( Drug Trafficking ) Act 1996.
