Shooting incident at Smithfield, Dublin on the 6/3/11 - Court appearance

Gardai investigating a shooting incident and violent disorder in the Smithfield area on Sunday, the 6th March 2011, arrested a man in his 40's on the 9th March 2011.

The man was arrested in Co. Galway and was detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act 1939, at the Bridewell Garda Station in Dublin.

This man has now being charged in connection with the  incident and will appear before Court No 2,  Criminal Courts of Justice, Parkgate Street at 2pm today the 11th March 2011.

Gardai investigating a shooting incident and violent disorder in the Smithfield area, on Sunday the 6th March 2011, have arrested a man in his 40s this afternoon, the 9th March.

The man was arrested in Co. Galway and is detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act 1939, at the Bridwell Garda Station in Dublin.

A 41 year old man is expected to appear before the Courts Of Criminal Justice tomorrow morning (Wednesday March 9th 2011) charged in connection with an incident at Smithfield, Dublin.

The man was arrested under the provisions of Section 30 Offences against the State Act 1939 in Dublin City Centre on Sunday evening (6/3/11) and detained at the Bridewell Garda Station.

Gardai at the Bridewell Garda Station who are investigating a firearm incident in the Smithfield area of Dublin on the 6th March 2011 wish to renew their appeal for witnesses.

They are particularly interested in hearing from any person who may have photos or video footage relating to the incident.

 Witnesses to this incident or anyone who may be able to assist with the investigation in any way, including supplying photos or video footage, is asked to contact the Bridewell Garda Station on 01-6668200, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Gardai at the Bridewell are investigating all the circumstances following a firearm incident in the Smithfield area of Dublin this morning the 6th March 2011 at approximately 11.30am.

Two males (no ages currently available) received injuries that are not thought to be life threatening. They have been taken Hospitals in the City centre.

In addition a suspect device was found in the area and Army EOD are currently at the Bridewell Garda Station.
