Drug seizure in Bayside, Dublin on the 29/3/09

Garda National Drugs Unit, assisted by the Organised Crime Unit and local Drugs Units, arrested 2 men were in the Bayside Crescent area of Sutton in Dublin.

 

As a result of an intelligence lead operation by the Garda National Drugs Unit, assisted by the Organised Crime Unit and local Drugs Units, 2 men were arrested in the Bayside Crescent area of Sutton in Dublin shortly after 12pm on the 29th March 2009.

 

As part of the operation Gardai stopped and searched a car in Bayside Crescent and recovered what is believed to be 10kg of heroin with an estimated street value of betwen €2 million and €8 million (depending on forensic and purity analysis).

 

The two men aged 43 and 23 are being detained at Raheny and Santry Garda Stations under Station under Section 2 Drug Trafficking Act.

 

This was part of an on-going operation into the activities of a group of organised criminals operating in the Dublin area.
