A man in his 20's is in custody at Gort Garda Station following a drug seizure at Kinvara, Co. Galway on Friday the 13th of March 2009. He was arrested this morning the 16th of March 2009 in a follow up operation at Liscannor, Co. Clare.
A quantity of cannabis plants were seized in a Garda operation carried out near Kinvara at about 5 p.m. on Friday the 14th of March. The drugs subject to analysis may have a street value of up to €50,000. The cannabis was being cultivated at a house in the Caherawoneen area of Kinvara.
The arrested man is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and can be held for up to 24 hours.
