Gardai in Roxboro Road Garda Station assisted by Gardai from NBCI conducted an operation at 7 a.m. the 24th February, 2009 as part of the ongoing investigation into the murder of Shane Geoghegan that occured on 9th November, 2008.
A total of 14 people have been arrested, ranging in ages from late teens to early 40's. There are seven (7) males and seven (7) females and are all currently detained under the provisions of Section 30 Offences Against the State Act and Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.
There were 6 males and 6 females arrested on the South Side of Limerick City, and they are currently detained at Garda Stations in the Limerick City and county area and at Ennis, Co. Clare.
One Female was arrested in Dublin and is currently detained at Ballymun Garda Station and a second female was arrested in the Bansha Area of Tipperary and she is detained at Cahir Garda Station.
