A Garda Regional Support Unit commenced operations in the Southern Region on 3rd September 2008. From the 31st August 2009 a Garda Regional Support Unit will commence operations in the Eastern Region.
In advance of this commencement a photo opportunity will be provided to members of the media at Mullingar Garda Station on Friday, the 28th August 2009 at 2.30pm at which Assistant Commissioner Dermot Jennings will attend.
The Garda Eastern Region encompasses the Garda Divisions of Westmeath, Laois / Offaly, Meath, Kildare and Wicklow.
