Two men have been charged in connection with the hi-jacking of a taxi.
Two men have appeared at Athlone District Court on the 30th of May 2008 charged in connection with the hi-jacking of a taxi on the 12th of January 2007.
The taxi driver picked up two men at about 2.15 am on that date in Mullingar, he was subsequently seriously assaulted and thrown from the taxi.
The two men drove off in the car in the direction of Castlepollard.
As part of the Garda investigation into the incident two men were arrested, one aged 26 and the other aged 33 years.
They were questioned in relation to the incident and subsequently charged.
