Gardai in Ballina are investigating a house fire that occurred at McDermott Street, Ballina, Co. Mayo on 11th May, 2008 at approximately 5 p.m.
A 27 year old man has died this morning, the 17th May, 2008 at St. James Hospital, Dublin as a result of the injuries he sustained in the fire at his home.
Gardai arrested a 66 year old man on Wednesday 14th May, 2008 and he was released without charge from custody on Friday 16th May, 2008.
A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions and investigations are ongoing.
