The male pedestrian killed in Durrow, Co Laois on Sunday 1/6/08 has been named as Michael Walsh, 43yrs, Tully, Connemara, Co Galway

Gardaí at Abbeyleix, Co Laois, are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 00:20 on the 1/06/08.
A 43 year old male pedestrian was fatally injured when he was struck by a car on the N8 (Dublin to Cork Rd), 2 miles north of Durrow, Co. Laois.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to Midland Regional Hospital in Portlaoise.
This section of the N8 has been closed and motorists are asked to follow the diversions in place.
Gardai at Abbeyleix also wish to appeal for any member of the public who may have witnessed this accident, to contact them at 057 8730580.
