A fatal collision occurred on the N3 between Virginia and Cavan at approximately 10am this morning the 27th of December.
Gardai at Bailieboro, Co Cavan have named the pedestrian who died as a result of this mornings collision on the N3 as Therese Mc Gowan 29 years from Oldcastle, Co Meath. (Please see Press Release 1406/08 below)
The man arrested in connection with this incident has been released without charge pending further investigations.

A fatal collision occurred on the N3 between Virginia and Cavan at approximately 10am this morning the 27th of December. A female (29 years) was struck by a vehicle which was coming from the Cavan direction. She was pronounced dead at Cavan General Hospital a short time later. A male has been arrested in connection with the incident and has been taken to Cavan Garda station. Gardaí in Bailieboro are appealing for anyone who may have been on the N3 between Cavan and Virginia between 9.45am and 10.15 am this morning (27/12/’08) to contact them at 042 9694570.
