A Garda investigation into a referral received by An Garda Síochána from the Court of Appeal in 2025 has been conducted by the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (GNBCI).
A file on the case was submitted to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
This morning, Tuesday 29th September 2026, on foot of directions from the Office of the DPP, investigating Gardaí from GNBCI have arrested and charged a male and a female in connection with this investigation.
Both persons will appear before District Court Number 1 in the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning.
An Garda Síochána has no further comment.
