Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Clonroche, Co. Wexford, on Friday, 25th September 2026.
Shortly after 2:40pm, Gardaí and emergency services responded to reports of a three-car collision on the N30 at Ballymackesy, Clonroche. The driver of one vehicle, a woman in her 70s, was pronounced deceased at the scene and has since been removed to the mortuary at Waterford Hospital. The driver and sole occupant of a second car, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. The occupants of the third car did not require immediate hospital treatment.
The road remains closed to facilitate a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, with local diversions currently in place. The Coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward. Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
