As part of an intelligence-led operation conducted on Tuesday, 22nd September 2026, personnel attached to the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), Revenue Customs officers, and the Meath and Westmeath Divisional Drugs Units seized a total of 11.5 kilograms of herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of €161,000 at two separate locations in County Meath.
A male in his 20s was arrested by An Garda Síochána in relation to the seizure of 5.7 kilograms of cannabis herb. He was detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda station in Meath. He has since been charged and released to appear before Trim District Court at a later date.
A female in her 20s was arrested and detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, in connection with the seizure of 5.8 kilograms of cannabis herb, at a Garda Station in Meath. She has also been charged and released to appear before Trim District Court at a later date.
Investigations are ongoing.
